Discovery Coast Dance Centre offers a large variety of dance classes for all skill levels and for all ages (2yrs to adults) in Agnes Water and Miriam Vale.


Our experienced teachers are passionate about helping each dancer achieve their highest potential, while also having as much fun as possible. Have a look at our classes below and our timetable to find the classes that best fit your needs.

Jazz

One of the most popular and well known forms of dance. Jazz dance includes strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. In a Jazz class the dancers also learn many fun and trendy dance steps that are used for all forms of dance.

Tap

Tap dance is a style of dance in which a dancer wears shoes with heel and toe taps attached, and sounds out audible beats by rhythmically striking the floor.

Ballet

Classical ballet is the foundation for all other dance styles. Ballet improves your body's control, posture, muscle tone, flexibility and core strength.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop encompasses a wide range of street styles including urban, new school and breaking.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Lyrical and Contemporary are expressive dance forms with a free, artistic and creative feel. They draw a lot of their technique from classical ballet.


Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz, with expressive motions that tell a story.


Contemporary often focuses on floor work and works on the principles of centering, alignment, gravity, contraction, release and suspension.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a combination of dialogue, acting, dancing and singing.  In Musical Theatre you will learn about different musical productions across the ages.

AcroDance

AcroDance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Learn flips and tricks in a safe environment.

Tiny Tots Classes

Our Tiny Tots classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and AcroDance are specifically designed for children aged 2-4 years. Children are introduced to basic movement, coordination and rhythm skills. They learn how to skip, put simple movement combinations together, balance and gain an awareness of self and others.

Adults Classes

Our Adult classes combine easy to follow dance moves with strength-training exercises, and will have you sweating and singing along to the music. Build endurance, burn fat, and tone your body in these Adults classes for all dance and fitness levels.

Booty Barre Classic

A traditional barre class focusing on sculpting and toning the entire body, with an emphasis on the glutes and legs. Using small, precise movements inspired by ballet, pilates, and yoga, this low-impact workout improves posture, flexibility, and muscle endurance while lifting and shaping your body.

Booty Barre Strength

This full-body barre class combines the elegance of barre with light resistance training, using small dumbbells to intensify the sculpting effects. Perfect for building long, lean muscles while toning the glutes, legs, arms, and core. Expect slow, controlled movements that challenge strength and endurance without heavy lifting.

Booty Barre HIIT

A high-energy fusion of barre and high-intensity interval training (HIIT), designed to elevate your heart rate and burn calories while toning and lifting your glutes. Combining cardio bursts with classic barre movements, this workout is perfect for building strength, endurance, and muscle definition in an intense session.

Progressing Ballet Technique

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner from junior through to advanced levels.
