Our Commitment to Child Safety

At Discovery Coast Dance Centre, the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every child and young person is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel respected, valued and empowered to learn, grow and express themselves through dance.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse, grooming, neglect, discrimination or unsafe behaviour. Child safety is embedded in all aspects of our studio culture, leadership and daily operations.

We actively work to create a child-safe environment by:

  • promoting the rights, participation and voices of children and young people

  • maintaining clear professional boundaries between staff and students

  • ensuring all staff and volunteers are appropriately screened and trained

  • implementing strong policies, procedures and risk management practices

  • responding promptly and respectfully to any concerns or complaints

  • fostering an inclusive and culturally safe environment for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disability, and children from diverse backgrounds.

We encourage students, families, staff and community members to speak up if something doesn’t feel right. All concerns about child safety are taken seriously and handled with care, confidentiality and professionalism.

Discovery Coast Dance Centre is committed to continuous improvement and regularly reviews its child safe practices to ensure we meet and exceed current child safety standards.
